- First Amendment - Appreciate Volunteers First Amendment Editor, Times-Union: Please permit me to respond to Ms.Deborah Smith's letter in the April 21 issue.I normally do not respond to letters I disagree with, but I feel such a strong compulsion in this case, I cannot resist. Ms.Smith (Debbie): Despite your vitriol, you could not be more wrong.No one is denying you or Messers Robbins or Vedder or Misses Streisand or Sarandon or Maines their due say.You ARE entirely correct.In the United States of America, they have every right to spew their hatred for the current president.The fact that they are completely wrong, not to mention bordering on seditious, in their criticisms, they do have the right to state them.

Editor, Times-Union:Please really read this letter and consider it.

Editor, Times-Union:When my wife and I was at the courthouse we saw no picture of the President. When I was last there, Mr. Bush’s was. Would you care to ask some one why President Obama's is not there?

Editor, Times-Union:The anti-gunners have come up with a new angle. They are now going to disarm us by groups.

Editor, Times-Union:I read your article on Tom Metzger.

Editor, Times-Union:When will the U.S. Government finally realize the only way, in my opinion, to counter the threat coming out of North Korea?

Editor, Times-Union:Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years.

- Thanks To Businesses - Jail Expansion - WCHS Awards - Salvation Army Says Thanks - SUVs Thanks To Businesses Editor, Times-Union: I would like to give a tip of the hat to the following businesses for going beyond the call of duty to help a consumer. First off, I would like to thank Warsaw Public Library.They have always been very helpful by helping me on and off the wheelchair lift, finding materials and making sure I get on my bus when it is time to leave. Another big thank you to the kind staff at Marsh Supermarket.They always greet me with a smile and always go out of their way to make sure I am taken care of in a prompt and delightful manor.

Editor, Times-Union:As we honor our mothers on Sunday, let us ponder the obligations parents assume when they bring children in the world.

Editor, Times-Union:I know I'm one of the "usuals" and as such am suppose to keep my mouth shut.

Editor, Times-Union:Turned on the TV today – Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire – Bernie saying, “Hillary will see to it that the rich will pay their fair share!”

Editor, Times-Union:At the risk of causing the county to collapse, I have decommissioned my dreaded 4 x 8 sign.

Editor, Times-Union:In response to Mr. Metzger's letters, I would like to say, it seems he had good intentions.

Editor, Times-Union:According to our esteemed newspaper, I see the board received $25,000 in funding for a DUI task force Indiana enforcement grant (from state taxes). The task force will pay officers overtime for selective patrols and sobriety checkpoints of impaired and dangerous driving.

Editor, Times-Union:Let’s get real. Romney-Ryan was the only sane choice. Sadly, insanity ruled the day.

Editor, Times-Union:I was saddened this week to hear of the passing of one of the officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Justice, the K-9 officer.
