SYRACUSE – The Wawasee boys swim team defeated Warsaw 96-90, while the Lady Tigers topped the Lady Warriors 116-68 Saturday at Wawasee Middle School.

COLUMBIA CITY – The Whitko basketball team won a close one Wednesday.

Though it was their season opener, the Warsaw Tigers looked like they were in mid-season form Wednesday night.

SYRACUSE – Multiple runs hindered Wawasee at home Tuesday.

BUNKER HILL – Sophie Bussard scored 17 points and Sidney Wagner had 15 points as the Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team won 54-31 Tuesday at Maconaquah. 

MARION – Grace College’s men’s basketball suffered its first defeat of the season in overtime on Tuesday, losing at No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan University 92-86.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Mark Underwood has as much optimism about the upcoming season as his team has size and depth. And that’s a lot.

WINONA LAKE – Grace College’s women’s basketball team enjoyed an offensive explosion, beating Great Lakes Christian 110-50 on Friday night. The Lady Lancers (4-4) scored the second-most points in program history, missing the team record by just one point.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Grace College’s Ben Rankin enjoyed his best time of the season in the biggest race of the year.

HUNTINGTON – Emalee Duggins scored 13 points, but the Whitko girls basketball team lost 49-31 Friday at Huntington North.

WINONA LAKE – Tori Calizo tallied six points and 17 rebounds, but the Lakeland Christian girls basketball team lost 33-24 in a home game Thursday against Lakewood Park.

AKRON – Of the 12 players on Tippecanoe Valley High School’s varsity boys basketball roster, six of them played football in the fall for the Vikings.

BOURBON – Last season found the Triton boys basketball team in unfamiliar territory.

WABASH – The Warsaw girls basketball team overcame an early deficit Wednesday for a 57-19 victory against Wabash.
