Letters To The Editor

Editor, Times-Union:Hands up to Kathryn Reiff. Very well said.To start, I don't vote.

Editor, Times-Union:I want to write in today to talk about a friend of mine that was portrayed in the wrong light in your Nov. 25 newspaper.

Editor, Times-Union:This is in response to Mrs. Longenecker's letter regarding her disdain toward Mr. Polston and his "human sundae."

Editor, Times-Union:Math and figures were not my strong point in school, but here are some that sorta shocked me, along with the sickening TV news of the "terrorists" using a little child to fool the guards so they could get a bomb toward its intended target. The child was blown to bits, along with several adults.

Editor, Times-Union:So the truth comes out:

Editor, Times-Union:Indiana House District 83 voters are waking up to Representative Kathy Heuer's voting record.

Editor, Times-Union:It amazes me that anyone could be so naive to think unions are responsible for our country's current economic condition.

- Zoning Board - Customer Service - Life's Meaning - Bible Translation - Old-Fashioned Manners Zoning Board Editor, Times-Union: I recently learned that the Board of Zoning Appeals has granted a developer the right to build condominiums on Lake Wawasee. While I have no objection to their right to build these condos, I want the BZA to explain to the citizens of Kosciusko County why they granted permission to build within 20 feet of the lake shore, while all other owners must meet a 35-foot setback.

Editor, Times-Union:Condemnation. Sadly, I've seen a lot of this. Even more sad, by Christians.

Editor, Times-Union:I cannot sit by and watch Rebecca Kubacki being attacked when she is doing a fine job on our behalf in Indianapolis.

Editor, Times-Union: As a voter in House District 22, I am looking for a representative who will help safeguard our liberties while representing the citizens of the district.

Editor, Times-Union:What a joy it was to see the smiling faces on everyone in the picture.

Editor, Times-Union:Although Mitt Romney wasn’t in operational control of Bain Capital at the time jobs were shut down and outsourced to China, the chances are decisions were being made in advance while he was in operational control. Decisions to close down a major retailer like KayBee Toys don’t happen overnight.

Editor, Times-Union: When you have a world in which an estimated one-fourth of the children go to bed, or spend their night, hungry due to a lack of food; when a large portion of citizens of third-world countries have no shelter, or clothing, other then that donated to them, how do we justify a self-centered position that we will determine what our neighbors can do with their personal property for our own selfish interest?

Editor, Times-Union:The merchants who oppose the homeless shelter downtown are hypocrites!

Editor, Times-Union:Re: Steven A. HiteWe never know where the inspiration to write may turn up.

Editor, Times-Union:In order for the Indiana economy to be robust, we need abundant energy that is affordable.

Editor, Times-Union:Jeanne M. Schutz’s letter printed July 3, 2012, hit a familiar tone with me! Our family has often been frustrated with the storm coverage from WRSW. I was thankful to read that someone else was writing what I’d been thinking!

Editor, Times-Union:I was surfing Senator Bayh's Web site and read this news release:

Editor, Times-Union:The stories recounted by the survivors of Hephzibah House are quite disturbing.

Editor, Times-Union:Well, I've been reading the "There is a God, no there's not, yes there is, how do you know, because the Bible tells me so" letters.

Editor, Times-Union:Mr. Hites' most recent letter of March 26, titled "Bible Teachings," deserves a response. He goes into a long-winded diatribe about what constitutes sin and defends his gay bashing by saying it's his duty as a Christian to point out wickedness to sinners in order to save his soul.

- KABS - Leesburg Thanks - Miller's Commended KABS Editor, Times-Union: I certainly cannot understand the attitude of the county commissioners, nor the city council, when I read the remarks that were made in regard to the KABS bus. Do they even care nor think of the great blessing KABS is to those who do not have transportation? Think of the mother whose husband has driven their only car to work and she has a pre-kindergarten child. That child gets on the KABS bus smiling at everybody and is delivered safely to his school. Also the Head Start child is put in a child's safety seat.Of course the senior citizens are very happy to be able to depend on KABS.

- Kindergarten Kindergarten Editor, Times-Union: A month or so ago I wrote a letter to the editor inquiring about the kindergarten sessions in the proposed closing of the three elementary schools.Busing the two sessions at each school to and from Warsaw? Going for an all-day kindergarten? (I believe Gov.Kernan failed to get this passed.) The parents transporting them to and from Warsaw? Have all the families with kindergarten, or soon-to-be kindergarten-age children move in to Warsaw? Perhaps the school board members that are so determined to close these schools have an answer.Dr.McQuire, Mr.Allebach, others? Also, a big thank-you to Mr.England and Mr.Yeiter and all caring and interested individuals who are giving their all to keep these schools open.

Editor, Times-Union:Hey Joe, FBI released documents, freedom of information act, showing at least 26 of the agency's employees witnessed aggressive mistreatment and described techniques.
