Well, I've been reading the "There is a God, no there's not, yes there is, how do you know, because the Bible tells me so" letters. I know that I have touched a nerve when a 9-year-old chimes in, so I will move on to another subject.
I would like to thank the brave Republican state representatives who are not backing down and letting the unions have what they want once again. One look at some of the union towns (Detroit, Pittsburgh, Flint) or what is left of them tells me that I want nothing to do with the thugs.
I also agree with Reps. Kubacki and Wolkins when they told the union president of DePuy in his own letter that they need to take a pay cut. If they and some of the other high-paid workers in our county and around the state made less money, more companies could expand and hire more employees, which would lead to lower unemployment. People with five and six weeks vacation is a big burden on companies, too. Two weeks is enough for anyone to have.
Companies leave usually for one reason, cheaper operating costs. What would happen if all companies dropped Insurance coverage for all? The cost would become affordable almost over night because no one would be able to afford the current rates, so why don't they do it? Because the unions would go off the deep end. So, the way I see it, we can blame the unions for the high insurance rates. Cutting pay and all benefits across the board would keep American jobs here and keep Americans working.
The Republicans know this and that's why I will support them. The House belongs to the GOP now. In the next general election we will take over the Senate and the White House, then things will change and the unions will be nothing more than a bad dream.
