Condemnation. Sadly, I've seen a lot of this. Even more sad, by Christians.
Our job as Christ followers is not to condemn people who are not Christians, but to extend them God's love. Why do so many people who claim to represent Christ write letters to the editor condemning people? Why do they stand on the streets telling others they are going to hell? Why do they feel that they have the right to tell anyone they are going to hell?
According to the Bible, you claim to read and abide by, judgement is God's place, not yours. If someone jumped in front of your face and screamed, "you are going to burn in hell," would you listen? I know I wouldn't!
Instead of condemning people, why don't we (Christians) talk about how God sent His son Jesus Christ to die for anyone who is willing to accept His gift? People are so much more likely to listen, you may even make a new friend in the process! The bad news? We are all guilty. The good news? No matter who you are or what you have done, God's grace is available to you - all you have to do is accept the gift He freely extends to everyone. I know some of you have heard that a million times and may be rolling your eyes or even laughing at it, but if we, as Christians, are going to jump in front of people's faces and scream anything, that should be it.
