Yes, much like truth should matter in editorial writing.
Editor, Times-Union:I have had cable in Warsaw for over 26 years and it is getting to the point that I am looking elsewhere.
Sometimes you've just got to wonder if public officials need to take a refresher course in "being a public servant." Maybe it's the fact that they control large sums of money, maybe they just like telling other people what to do or maybe they've been in office so long they begin to believe they're in charge. Whatever the reason, many elected officials in this area succumb to what former Times-Union reporter Ruth Anne Lipka called the "Secret Squirrel Syndrome."You know the type - the less they tell the public, the better, because it's not really the public's business anyway. Police use Secret Squirrel tactics a lot, but usually with a reason - they don't want to reveal all of the details of an investigation or they don't want a bad guy to know they're on to him. But when that attitude is adopted by a public entity - say, a school board - it could be bothersome. Monday's Warsaw school board meeting was a perfect example of that attitude.
Editor, Times-Union:Christian, what do you believe? Do you know why you believe what you believe? Do you believe that you are made in the image of your creator, God? That is the crux of all Christianity. Do you let this belief (that you are made in the image of God) mold every decision you make? Are you being transformed by the renewing of your mind? Are you striving not to conform to the patterns of this world? If so, “then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Editor, Times-Union:In his book, “Liberty Defined,” Ron Paul points out that two pillars of a free society are: 1. “Rights belong to individuals, not groups; they derive from our nature and can neither be granted nor taken away by government.”

Dennis G.Lundgren, Warsaw Sports Coverage Editor, Times-Union: There are two things about which I would like to comment regarding the Times-Union sports coverage.
- Good Show Good Show Editor, Times-Union After reading David's review of Wagon Wheel's "Singing in the Rain," I felt he must have been at a different theater on opening night. The cast was wonderful, the dancing creative, and the voices were strong and meaningful.Every costume was a work of art for the time period. The humor of Jerry Galante and Michael Yocum added so much to the plot. The set was masterfully created. Michael Vangemert and his dancing in the rain was very special.Choreography for so many dancers on the round stage was breath-taking.Tap dancing was a major dance choice of that era, and actually there were dances other than tap in the play.It was great to see masterful tapping.Heather Seldon was such a believable Kathy, and Heather Beck's voice was perfect for the part.

The Rev.Rob Schneck, founder of the Ten Commandments Project, spoke on "Preserving our Moral Foundation."We need to prevent the consequences that could happen and have, like removing prayer from our schools, legalized abortion. We need to set a new precedent.

Remember back when the regulatory commission required NIPSCO to reimburse "we consumers" for being overcharged? Well, it seems as though they have found a way to recoup those charges they reimbursed.
