Gov. Palin has a steady 80 percent approval rating as governor of Alaska. Can the same be said about the current Congress? No. Why does she get this high approval rating? She isn't your typical politician and thank goodness for that. She listens. She cares about the people. Her family is middle class - who better to understand our needs?
Newsweek had her on their cover and they had "One of the Folks" (and that is the problem). With statements like this, they are saying "one of the folks" can't lead. Why not? The forefathers were "one of the folks." They believed the same as Sarah Palin - the president/vice president are suppose to work for the people. Not the other way.
She stood up to ethics issues in Alaska. The person with the ethical problems was the chairman of the Republican party. When she ran for governor, he withheld funds for her campaign, but she won anyway. She did it with dedication and determination. When people she knew wanted to contribute to her campaign and she knew they couldn't afford it, she told them to keep their money as she really only needed their vote. When she talked to a union of fisherman, she told them that she would understand if they voted for her opponent as they disagreed on a point, but if she was elected, she would listen. How many candidates would do that? Someone has to keep an eye on Pelosi and Frank.
There is a small Alaska book out about Sarah Palin and it was published in April - before she was put on the ticket. I highly recommend it.
