The Poppy is a special and important fundraiser for the American Legion Auxiliary during the month of May.
Throughout Indiana, the auxiliaries will be trying to encourage Americans to give to this worthy cause to help veterans. The money donated could ensure a warm, clean, dry place for a homeless veteran to sleep or provide medical attention he or she may need.
Yes, most veterans we know have a loving family and home, but there are others who have suffered injuries defending our country and depend on the American Legion Auxiliary and donations from you to be there for them as they were there for us in time of need. Please give to the Poppy fund when you see a volunteer this month.
