Letters To The Editor

- Red Light Red Light Concerns Addressed Editor, Times-Union: Mr.Harold L.Kitson's concerns about vehicle owner liability was fully addressed in the pending photo enforcement legislation. The owner of a vehicle photographed running a red light would be sent a citation. The owner then had several options - admit guilt and pay a fine up to $100, ask for a court date to contest the citation, or return the citation with the name and contact information of the person that had possession of the vehicle at the time of the violation. In the last case, the citation would be resent to the individual named by the owner. If the second individual refused to admit guilt or pay the fine, the final liability would rest with the owner of the vehicle, similar to parking citations which hold the owner liable.

Editor, Times-Union:My name is Dustin Pruitt. I’m currently serving time in the Kosciusko County Jail. I got sentenced back in November 2011 to a two-year do one-year sentence. I was breaking in to cars to support my heroin/meth habit. I kept my drug use a secret for three and a half years from family and close friends; or at least I thought I was keeping a secret.

Editor, Times-Union:In response to Mike Stinfer's letter:To the best of my recollection there are 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, give or take a few million. It is estimated that 1 percent of them are “radical Muslims, “extremists,” “militant Muslims,” “terrorists” or any other name for the “no quarter given, pure adherents” to the Koran. That equates to 15 million radicals hell bent on killing every Jew, Christian and all other non-followers of Mohammad.
