Editor, Times-Union: Did I miss something? Did the Times-Union misquote someone? I didn’t go to the candidate forum, I just read The Times-Union. This question was asked to all District 22 candidates and the county offices candidates. The question was the elimination of the Business Personal Property Tax. Incumbent Republican Bob Conley stated this tax paid for programs and salaries when this tax was eliminated. This tax will have repercussions and programs may be cut or drop. Another incumbent, Mr. Garber, said the elimination of this tax will be a problem for Kosciusko County. The Republican candidate of District 22, Mr. Nisly, said I think that the state legislature came up with a good compromise. Mr. Nisly must not have talked to Kosciusko County Republicans. Oh! Mr. Nisly doesn’t live in Kosciusko County. I wonder where Mr. Nisly is getting his information, his fellow Republicans from Kosciusko County didn’t like the elimination of this tax, but he does! I thought Mr. Nisly should work with the voters of Kosciusko and Elkhart counties instead of the governor. Paul Fribley Warsaw
