- Abortion Debate - Stolen Necklace - AWL Says Thanks - Child Care - Price Of Oil - Youthful Destruction - Advice To Demos Abortion Debate Editor, Times-Union: Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms.Rector's letter published on the 11/09/04.While I'd like to comment on her criticism of me I find it difficult for she doesn't quote me but speaks for me.She states that I "seem to think" or that I am "under the impression."If she would quote from my letter and then criticize it we could have a reasonable conversation. So I'll just have to let the letters stand for themselves.

I'm always more acutely aware of what people say and do when I'm jobless. Have you ever noticed the "help wanted" ads here in the local paper? The same ones appear every day.I don't believe they've hired anybody in 10 years. So those ads are like what ...a hand of hope? Someone needs to inform Combined Community Services that what they tout as a job list is, instead, a list of companies that hire, albeit infrequently.
- Paper Or Plastic? - Boys, Girls - Save The Swans - Immigration Paper Or Plastic? Editor, Times-Union: Do you remember being asked, "Paper or plastic?" as you checked out at a grocery store? It wasn't that long ago that this question was being asked.I'm sure you've noticed, it's not asked anymore, it's all plastic. When this plastic bag phenomena started, we were inundated with the good reasons why plastic was better.Even though the plastic bags are an oil product, they were supposedly better for the environment, cheaper, took less energy to produce and were more convenient.
