Editor, Times-Union: The impact of a CAFO in your five-mile radius has some obvious problems, such as odor, run off and increased big truck traffic that will cause road deterioration. There will be an abundance of manure in the area. Our waterways, streams and ditches empty into our lakes. Manure is being spread too close to these waterways.
Editor, Times-Union:Many of the volunteers at the Senior Center have decided not to volunteer anymore and there are some that wish to continue their service.

Editor, Times-Union:The article that was run in the Times-Union about the 21 men involved in a "sex" ring at Oakwood Cemetery, Pike Lake, Lucerne Park and other locations was tasteless. I, along with others that have a heart, think that by running the names of the men involved was nothing short of tabloid magazine material. What purpose does it serve to publicly humiliate those supposedly involved?
Editor, Times-Union:Sorry to bring the punchbowl out again.
- Correcting Errors - BMV Needs To Improve Correcting Errors Editor, Times-Union: On Sept.13, I attended a Silver Lake Council Meeting. The report in the paper left out a few details I think are important. I was accused of holding a grudge against Angela Glass because she won the 2003 election. You can call it what you want, but I am concerned with the town's finances. She blames Teresa Howell and I for her inability to do her job, but we gave her a list of things that needed to be done for the first month, when she took office. If she had done these things we would not have had to pay Umbaugh $1,900 to balance December 2003 accounts.

An ex-president who participated in sexual activities in the sanctity of our oval office, and people are going nuts buying his book.I truly believe that our country is beginning to pay dividends for our choices. We used to be a nation with high ideals, but no more.

Editor, Times-Union:Surprise, surprise! For a couple of years I have promoted the idea called Peak Oil. Based on popular science it seemed logical that the world is running out of oil. The accepted teachings in all the schools was that organic matter was the source of oil. With this concept came the idea of scarcity that the oil companies loved to promote.
