Ron Paul

Editor, Times-Union:

Good job, Jon Townsend, on your excellent letter about Dr. Ron Paul. For years I've also observed the Bush/Clinton/Bush political shenanigans and corruption in Washington, D.C., or as Tom Metzger best describes it, 'La Cesspool Grande.'

Our government in collusion with big business and other special interests has heaped upon us layers and layers of taxes, laws, bureaucrats, regulations, deception and debt. As a result, I've come to the conclusion that when it comes to our government, you can't be too cynical!

Dr. Ron Paul has been the lone voice crying in the wilderness of Congress. For 30 years, he has been trying to educate we tax slaves about individual responsibility, our freedoms, our foreign policy and our Constitution. Now things have gotten so bad that the masses are starting to wake up. Especially young people as they realize how the Social Security money has been looted by congress and sent overseas to all manor of sheiks, shas, kings and despots. Naturally, that money ends up in their Swiss bank accounts or is funneled back into politically connected big corporate America. We have found out how the neocons and arms merchants have entangled our country into all sorts of military foreign adventures and occupations. Now our military is stretched thin and we're bankrupt.

Dr. Paul is a Vietnam veteran who believes in a strong national defense, but that we should not be the world's policeman. He has received more campaign contributions from military service men and women than any other candidate for president. He wants to secure our borders, and he is pro-life and has delivered thousands of babies in his medical practice. They call him Dr. No in Congress because he always votes no to wasteful spending.

You can call Congressman Paul toll free at 888-322-1414 every week and listen to his 5-minute Washington update. Also, I invite you to visit www.RonPaul2008.com and just say yes to Dr. No.
