City Of Warsaw Announces Start Of CCMG Road Improvement Project

Posted

The city of Warsaw announced the start of its Community Crossings Matching Grant road improvement project.
Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Oct. 7, starting with improvements on Parker Street.
The project is being funded in part through the Indiana Department of Transportation’s Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) program, which provides matching funds to local communities for road and bridge improvements.
The project will include improvements along several key roadways:
• Parker Street — from U.S. 30 to Husky Trail
• Husky Trail — from the roundabout approach to Patterson Road
• Patterson Road — from Husky Trail to CR 75 North
• CR 75 North — from Patterson Road to CR 175 E.
The project will consist of a 4-inch structural mill, full-depth pavement patching, new intermediate and surface layers of HMA asphalt, and new pavement markings.
These improvements will address deteriorating pavement conditions, improve ride quality and extend the useful life of these roadways, according to a news release from the city.
Parker Street
Nighttime Closure
Work on Parker Street will be performed at night to help minimize the impact on daytime traffic and the traveling public.
Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 7, Parker Street will be closed to all traffic from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. while nighttime reconstruction activities are underway. Emergency services will be the only exception to the closure.
Motorists should plan ahead and use the designated detour routes during the nighttime closure. The traffic-control plan identifies the Parker Street work as a nighttime maintenance-of-traffic operation and includes designated truck detour routes.
Additional Project Work
Following the Parker Street work, construction activities will progress through the remaining project areas on Husky Trail, Patterson Road and CR 75 North.
Motorists should expect lane restrictions, changes in traffic patterns, reduced speeds and periodic delays as construction progresses. The city will provide additional information regarding traffic restrictions and construction activities as work moves through each area.
The city of Warsaw appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents, businesses, emergency services and motorists throughout the duration of the project, the release states.
