I would like to participate in a fuel boycott, too. One that would mean something, like if we had done it 20 years ago. Put our government on notice that we are the leaders, they are the servants.
That didn't happen and it's far too late, I fear, to make that happen. Twenty years ago, we held the manufacturing industry by labor standards, well, perhaps a bit more than 20 years ago. Now, labor is dismissable, if labor is too expensive the product will be made in another country. The only power the people in this country ever held is gone.
The difference people are refusing to see between the past and now is that it was in the interests of company owners and industrial giants in this country to promote good living among their employees. All the while experts hired by those industrial giants were told to find a way to eliminate the expense of labor. That has happened. Not by machine nor technological advancement, but by making it cheaper to ship everything over the Pacific than it is to produce it here. Now those people overseas are "making better money than ever before." This country is slipping into Third-world standards with the blessings of both parties in government. "The people in this country need to come down a few notches" is the liberal mantra. Of course, if you spend five years in elected office at state or federal level, the retirement benefits put you beyond that standard.
The big reason for shipping manufacturing overseas isn't labor costs. The big reason is that in this country, we can't dump into our waterways, in China, that is not an issue. Why haven't I heard Al Gore speak against the floating sea of trash drifting in the Pacific? Not an environmental issue? Had we not sent that production to China, where would the floating sea of trash have come from, not from lost shipping containers? What about the cloud of contaminants seen clearly from satellite on the winds from China to California? I mean, if we can believe the media, it's all a conservative attack on the poor. Where are the liberal giants? Why have their measures made things worse? Could it be that they don't really care about you?
So, if the money people and liberals like Al Gore still valued American workers, and held jobs here instead of going for the major profit margin, and of the shipping of everything from China hadn't started, would we have the lackluster problem of the sea of trash, or the toxic cloud washing into the Pacific? Global warming is so much more glamorous, even if based on observations of only around 100 years, any good media campaign is what it is. It must be the U.S., not all the unregulated industry in the world that is causing this supposed global warming.
We are bad people. Make sure you realize that. Your fathers were arrogant robber parentally illegitimates, who raped Europe and Asia for profit during WWII and now the are also responsible for every single failed government in Africa. You are bad people.
Wouldn't you want to vote for someone else? Best think it over who exactly has helped whom in this country? I see nothing of either party to be proud of. Where is the "none of the above" selection on the ballot? That is our right, not a joke, only treated as joke by the people that are railroading you. Remember, these people are our servants. (Do you hear the voice on the wind?)
