- Expressing Opinions - Low Morale - Crowded Schools Expressing Opinions Editor, Times-Union: The purpose of expressing an opinion is to persuade someone to see your point of view.Young opinions contributors seem incapable of grasping that concept, so let me see if I can simplify it for you. Just for the sake of illustration, let's say you write an article in which you want to persuade me that your mother possesses the world's best chili recipe, but you're in such a hurry to see your name in the paper that you forget to write the ingredients down.
Editor, Times-Union:To John Frye of Claypool:Apparently, the road through Sidney is like all roads in this country.

- EDIT Is A Tax - NIPSCO Service - NIPSCO Closing EDIT Is A Tax Editor, Times-Union: Let's cut to the chase.EDIT is an additional tax.To me this means more money will be coming out of local taxpayers' pockets than is being taken out now. I have yet to see or read anything about EDIT which would make me want my county council members to vote for it.
Editor, Times-Union:Early this morning I drove from my home in the north county to my office in Warsaw, traveling along my usual zigzagging pattern to avoid the known and numerous, large potholes that crater the county roads.
Editor, Times-Union: I also was in attendance on Sunday at the RTW open meeting in Warsaw. I have to say first that I support and believe in unions and my beloved Democratic Party, anyone that knows me will confirm this. World AIDS Awareness Day came and went. Did anyone notice? Did anyone know that Dec.1 was AIDS day? If I hadn't seen a brief in the back of some magazine, I wouldn't have noticed or known at all.I'm sure I'm not the only one. One in 300 Americans is HIV positive or has AIDS.AIDS is the second leading cause of death among all Americans between the ages of 25 and 44.In the United States, half of all new HIV infections occur in people under age 25.And one-third of Americans who are HIV positive are unaware of their infection. That's pretty staggering. Yet a day dedicated to making people more aware about the disease and the people affected disappeared before it even came. One reason could be that too many people think there's a cure out on the market and the scare is over.Wrong. There is no cure yet for AIDS or HIV.
- Recycling - Racism - Sharpest Tool - Biodiesel Plant Recycling Editor, Times-Union, My letter is in reference to Darin Tudor who gave his reasons for not recycling. His first reason was that there was no incentive and "what is in it for me"? I live in the country where we have to pay quarterly to have a trash hauler pick up the trash on a weekly basis. My last bill was for $91.41 for four months.Every quarter the bill increases and will continue to do so.There are only two people in my household, but yet I pay the same as any other family, no matter how many are in the household.I recycle everything I can, so there are only two bags or less of trash per week.If I didn't recycle, there would be at least four bags.

Editor, Times-Union:I suggest that using insurance as the primary means of providing finance of health care delivery is costly, and it is costly because it is estimated that about 31 percent of health care spending in America goes to health insurance overhead and profit (bandits and robbers), which has nothing to do with health care, but regardless of this – it is also costly because funding health care with insurance is also an inappropriate way to pay for health care to begin with.
Editor, Times-Union:To whom this may concern:I am writing this letter to express my full support of Randy Polston’s campaign for the school board seat in District 4.

Editor, Times-Union:I want to say something about divorce. I went through one 3-1/2 years ago. It’s still a deep wound in my heart. I personally would rather lose a spouse to death than in a divorce. That’s a fact, believe you me.
