I wanted to say how much I appreciate the help of the head coach of the Warsaw cheerleaders in getting the students involved in an event that benefits the community.
Last fall, the cheerleaders volunteered at several of the Lake City Marathon aid stations and helped make the event a success for our community. As the marathon race director, I noticed their enthusiasm helped all runners finish the marathon or 50K. Some cheerleaders stayed longer than their assigned time to continue helping. Our athletes said how much they appreciated their enthusiasm, and our staff was given several very positive comments about their maturity level and gracious behavior.
While I cannot speak for how the girls conduct themselves at game time, they were an invaluable asset to our event and I would willingly welcome them back for their outstanding community service.
