Letters To The Editor

- Environment - Troops Worthy - Plutocrats - Animal Shelter Environment Editor, Times-Union: We have been given an incredible responsibility of stewardship of our environment by our Creator, one that …

Editor, Times-Union:We just experienced an overhyped, positively outrageous Tuesday night debate recently between McCain and Obama that featured Obama's same old abstract empty rhetorical "cries" for "change."

My top priorities have always been to strengthen Indiana’s economy and to help create Hoosier jobs.

Editor, Times-Union:Recently, I was honored to give the invocation at the LIFE Center’s Annual Banquet as they celebrated 31 years of service to Wabash County and the surrounding areas.

Editor, Times-Union:I would like to thank Mr. Kolbe and Mr. Stinfer for responding to my letter regarding CAFOs.

Editor, Times-Union:In my travels everyday in and around the city and county I see blatant disregard for laws of the road. Drivers running stop signs, driving recklessly, texting, reading, eating, we all know about the distractions. We all see them and a large percentage of us have done them. And all the unsafe vehicles that would not pass a safety vehicle test of years past. Why don’t we have a vehicle inspection in this state? Whatever happened to the loud muffler law in this city? A stop sign, means full stop not a rolling stop!

Editor, Times-Union: First, I would like to thank the EMTs that took care of my son on Aug. 14. All of you that responded are truly an asset to this community. With that being said, let’s get down to the reason I am writing this letter.

Editor, Times-Union:Hi, Mr. Young,You said in a response earlier: "I don't care what the Jews do internally in Israel.

Editor, Times-Union:I know this is a free country. I also know this is a country with free speech.

Editor, Times-Union:"A government big enough to give you everything you want ...

- Bugged By Sick Dog - BZA Comment Criticized - Ferguson Remembered - Akron School Thanks - Pitzer Remembered Editor, Times-Union: Speaking of being bugged about something, the April 22 edition titled "Sick Dog" bothers me. First, the lady stated that she or her friend could not detect any signs of sores - then how could the shelter? Second, they did not know the dog had problems and I'm sure (Kay) Amsden and her staff would never have let the dog out if they knew. Third, you stated your friend had to put the dog to sleep and she then informed the shelter of it.Wrong ...Ms.Amsden herself put the animal down ...not a vet.

Editor, Times-Union:When people write letters to the editor, an article in a magazine or on the Internet, the writer attempts to inform the reader, to persuade the reader to change their views or entertain – put a smile on the reader’s face, give them a chuckle.

Editor, Times-Union:I have seen many different statists write many different comments, but Tom Metzger denying the Holocaust might be the most statist comment I have ever come across. Now, I am not going to challenge any of his statistics, because he’s missing part of the story.

Editor, Times-Union:Some notice has been taken concerning the recent visit of a Koch brothers representative in Warsaw.

RTW

Editor, Times-Union: I am writing about the Right to Work bill they are trying to push through in Indianapolis.

Zale Drugs is a compounding pharmacy.

Editor, Times-Union:The U.S. has more than 53,000,000 in poverty and 38 percent are children and growing. The old saying charity starts at home seems to be lost.

- Thanks To EMTs Thanks To EMTs Editor, Times-Union: As we approach this Valentine's season, I would like to give a special thanks to our EMTs, firemen and police.Jerry and I were so appreciative of all their care and concern during the many years of his illness. They were always prompt, caring and professional.Living on Center Street, I see them going to calls in all kinds of weather around the clock. We should not take their dedication for granted.

Editor, Times-Union:Every person needs to contact Senators Lugar and Bayh about the over 2,000-page health care bill that was just presented to the senate Thursday. The Senate is going to vote on it on Saturday.

We have a new dog rescue in Kosciusko County.

Editor, Times-Union:It is sad and unfortunate when innocent people die, as our politicians and liberal media rave about more gun control they won’t touch the root cause of violence in American. Back up a few years, we had prayer in our schools and government, parents that spent time with their children, and taught them right from wrong and to treat people with respect.

- NIPSCO - Challenge Met - Property Owners' Rights - What DARE Means - KCH Funds - KCH And EDIT - Worker's Comp - New Tax Group NIPSCO Editor, Times-Union: There has been concern about the NIPSCO operating headquarters closing in Warsaw, and the people that provide the best and fast service that we should expect from a provider will be moved.Lengthening the response time to a gas leak or electric outage can be the only result of such a move.Your concerns on emergency services need to be heard.
