Charity At Home

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

The U.S. has more than 53,000,000 in poverty and 38 percent are children and growing. The old saying charity starts at home seems to be lost. Most of all money donated went to government officials, hardly any went to help the Haiti people.

It's up to you which charity to want support, but between you and your church and how you spend any extra cash is up to you.I'm going to pray just like the person indicted in her letter to the editor, but I will not spend one penny on any of the businesses that do not want the homeless downtown. Maybe as they go under they just might find themselves at the door of the shelter themselves.

It's meth labs, robberies etc. people should be worried about. Fellowship Missions is a very good cause and there are many people behind the program so instead of giving money to other countries why not start at home, being Kosciusko County, and then if there is any left over give to a worthy cause as there are so many to choose from. That's Rick Ellis.
