Editor, Times-Union: It’s easy for Mitch to blame Obama for the economy when you consider we live in a society that can’t remember much past the last phony Fox News report they heard the day before.
- Dear President Bush - Keep Silver Lake School Dear President Bush Editor, Times-Union: Dear President Bush, Let me begin by saying, "Thank you for all that you are doing for this country and its people.May God continue to bless you and guide you in your struggle in this time of turmoil and tragedy." Mr.President, my reason for writing to you today is to ask that you remember the "small businesses" in this great nation and the contributions they make every day to the economy. When you think of an "economic stimulus package," remember us, the small companies that deliver the most impact to that economy. We are not a Ford Motor Company nor are we an IBM.However, as a group, small businesses do employ more people, pay more taxes and take greater risks than they do.

- Use Variance - Taxes - Zero Tolerance - Coaching Legend Use Variance Editor, Times-Union: What a shame that all of the citizens of Warsaw could not have been present to witness the "goings on" at the Monday night meeting of the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals. Four of the approximately 100 Rolling Hills residents present were permitted to speak on the various aspects of their argument against allowing a "use variance" to LRC Products. The residents were clearly forewarned that there would be no time for any more reiterative comments from their group.Counsel for LRC Products, however, had no limitation placed on his presentation.
- The War's Over - Mobile Meals - Polite Child - Thanks To Professionals - What Is A Family? The War's Over Editor, Times-Union: More people died from the last flu epidemic in 15 minutes than are ever going to die from SARS, but the media is portraying it like it's the bubonic plague. Everyone panics, and the first thing they grab is a face mask.I wonder, how many micro-organisms do people think those are going to repel? The media need to leave the spread of fear and insecurity to the terrorists. They're a lot better at it.
- Globalization - Library Thanks Globalization Editor, Times-Union: I read Mr. Frantz' letter "Globalization" five times and I still don't understand what he's trying to say! It seems he hasn't …
I’d like to give an update on the Project 500 child sponsorships. I think this latest blog post from our daughter, Sarah Joy, with Challenging Heights in Ghana, Africa, says it best:
- Mental Illness - Power Outage - Distasteful Photo Mental Illness Editor, Times-Union: David Kolbe has been recently forced to defend his office in light of some highly publicized felony drug cases that were modified after the offenders served considerably less time than they were sentenced to.Consequently, he has denied a more reasonable request by myself to modify a sentence so that a man could receive specialized treatment for a mental illness.

About 15 minutes later he was told he had to leave because of the cart.He was humiliated by six people there so badly that a crowd gathered to hear what was being said to Tim.Lots of people left with us.I thought discrimination only happened to races or the poor, but I was wrong.

Nurse, teacher, counselor, cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, personal assistant, the list goes on and on. What do you get when you roll all these occupations into one? A mother! From the moment a child is born, the duties of its mother are endless. From the middle-of-the-night feedings of a newborn to the preparation of high school graduation for the teenager. And my mom was no exception. She worked outside the home, only to come home to all the motherly duties that went along with raising four children (and a husband). But through it all she always had a smile on her face, a positive attitude and plenty of love to go around.
Editor, Times-Union:I just got done reading the Tuesday edition of the Times-Union and felt compelled to write this letter.
- Voice Of The People - Thanks From Pleasant Grove - Comments Clarified - Morgan Responds - He's No Truman Voice Of The People Editor, Times-Union: For a party so up in arms over the prospect of "overturning the results of the last election" (I guess that means we will have Bob Dole for president, after all), Indiana Democrats are certainly pulling no punches in their attempts to remove duly elected candidate Bobby Kerns from the Democratic ticket.
