Woodies Supermarket Educational Scholarship Trust

Each year, Warsaw Community High School and college students are given the opportunity to apply for the Woodies Supermarket Scholarship Fund.

This year, 15 high school and 12 college students (total of $26,500) were given scholarships to pursue their academic careers.





This year’s recipients are, high school: Jamie Grose, Kyle Hayward, Jasmin Juarez, Ella Knight, Lauren Kuhl, Eliza Kuhn, Brooklyn Lyon, Chase Madsen, Natalie Moore, Anne Petro, Shannon Randels, Caleb Warner, Karleigh Warren, Colton Wottering and Samuel Yeager; college: Eric Baumgartner, Lucas Cone, Bayly Dobbins, Sarah Fribley, Madeline Hooks, Mallory Hooks, Clairissa Kehler, Jonah Lechlitner, Sydney Miller, Perry Shelby, Sydney Peugh and Danielle Straits.

Woodies Supermarket Scholarship Fund was founded in 1978 by Woodie and Devota Schramm. Woodie was a businessman in Warsaw and Bremen and was the founder of Woodies Supermarkets. His wife, Devota, was a teacher at Atwood Elementary. Mr. and Mrs. Schramm chose to share the rewards of their hard work and dedication to give other young people an opportunity to pursue higher education.

The scholarship fund has given scholarships to 1,423 Warsaw graduates, totaling $841,500 since its inception in 1978.
