Walter John Weber, 87, of rural Akron, died at 12:50 a.m. Sept. 23, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Rochester, to Ralph and Ruth Nellans Weber. On Dec. 19, 1948, in Rochester, he married June E. Bowers, who survives.
He lived in rural Akron for 57 years, moving from Rochester. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1942. He was a lifelong farmer, rasing Holstein cows and formerly worked at Sealed Power, Rochester.
Also surviving are five children: Sandra (and spouse Max) Blocker, North Manchester; Louanne Weber and David (and spouse Susan) Weber, all of Akron; Patty (and spouse Steve) Betten, Wabash; and Debra (and spouse Darryl) Peters, Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur Weber; a sister, Margaret Weber Toomire; and a grandson, Scott Sechrist.
A private calling and graveside service was Tuesday at Earl-Love Funeral Home, Akron, with Brad Eckerly officiating.
