Virginia Zuck, 101, of Winona Lake, passed away at 4:20 p.m. May 22, 2012, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.
She was born Dec. 5, 1910, in Rockford, Ill., to James M. and Erna Reichstein Wise. On March 14, 1931, in Decatur, Ill., she married Raymond F. Zuck, who died Dec. 11, 1973.
Formerly of Rockford, Ill., she relocated with her family to Winona Lake, in 1945 and later to Grace Village, Winona Lake. She was a graduate of Rockford High School, attended the University of Illinois, attended Grace College and graduated from Manchester College with a bachelor’s degree. She received her master’s degree in library science from Indiana University. She formerly worked at the Times- Union and was a longtime employee of the Warsaw Community School Corp., serving as an English teacher and Librarian. She was a 60-year member of Church of the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Winona Lake.
Surviving are three sons: including Greg (and spouse Theresa) Zuck, Estes Park, Colo.; David Zuck, Escondido, Calif.; and Richard R. (and spouse Carol) Zuck, Seal Beach, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Helen Wise, Rockford, Ill.; grandchildren David Zuck, Escondido; Mark (and spouse Wendy) Zuck, Boulder Colo.; and Cathy Zuck (and Jim Smith), Louisville, Colo; and great-grandchildren, Paxton and Vander Zuck, both of Boulder, and Anna and Mikael Smith, both of Louisville.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Rob Harrison. A gathering will follow the service at The Church of the Good Shepherd, Winona Lake. Burial will be at noon (CDT) Tuesday at Willwood Burial Park, Rockford, Ill.
