Verna Lou Martin Stevens

ARGOS – Verna Lou Martin Stevens, 73, of Walnut Street, Argos, died at 6:20 a.m. Dec. 21, 2012, in St. Vincent’s Hospice, Indianapolis. She had been in declining health for several months. She was born Oct. 28, 1939, in Tippecanoe, to Virgil R. Bud and Mildred Olive Baer Martin. On Dec. 9, 1960, in Rochester, she married Harold “Curly” Dean Stevens, who preceded her in death on April 20, 2012. She was a housewife. She had lived in Argos for 52 years coming from Tippecanoe. Surviving are one son, Douglas D. (and spouse Christine) Stevens, Noblesville; three grandchildren, and many extended family. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deana Stevens, and one sister, Janice McClain. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ, 15676 Michigan Road, Argos, with Rev. Lloyd Howard, Church of Jesus Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos. Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Earl-Love Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.
