Susan K. “Mama D” Burns, 57, of Warsaw, died at 6:54 a.m. July 5, 2011, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Jan. 2, 1954, in Marion, to Richard Dovine and Juanita Barns Bankson. On Aug. 16, 1988, in North Webster, she married Floyd “Chuck”.
Living most of her life in Warsaw, she was a homemaker and was a Red Cross volunteer for 20 years. She loved the Lord and was a member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Warsaw. She also was a member of Region 1 ABATE. She enjoyed fishing, flower gardening and scrapbooking. She was a awesome cook, great mom and loving wife, always putting others first. She touched so many – even in her death as she was an organ donor.
Also surviving are a son, Greg (and spouse Missy) Burns, Etna Green; four daughters: Tabathia Wagner, Troy, N.Y.; Angela Disney, Marion; Amy (and spouse Jason) Jones, Elgin, Ore.; and Nichol (and spouse Louie) Keplinger, Claypool; 19 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a nephew, Richhard Bankson, Gas City; a brother, Larry Dean (and Vickie Gibson), Fort Wayne; and a sister, Mary Jo RenDon-LaShure, Marion. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Michael Gibson and Ricky, Johnny Allen and David Eugene Reynolds.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints, Warsaw, officiated by Bishop Eric Davies of the church. Calling is one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
