Sharon K. Mauzy Shaver, 64, of Fort Wayne, died Oct. 2, 2010, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born April 28, 1946, to Thames and Helen Mauzy, Warsaw. She married John B. Shaver, who survives.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1964, and attended Parsons College and Indiana University, Bloomington. After college she went to work for Gov. Ed Whitcomb who was then Secretary of State of Indiana. Her acting career began at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse, Warsaw. After her children were grown she continued acting while the family was living in Houston, Texas, by appearing in several made-for-TV movies and TV commercials. She attended Emmanuel Community Church, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are a brother, Landon T. (and spouse Margaret) Mauzy, Warsaw; two children, Tracy K. (and spouse Rich) Dolsen, Fort Wayne, and John W. (and spouse April) Shaver, Tampa, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Community Church, Fort Wayne.
Calling is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
