Robert E. “Bob” Anderson, 63, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at 2:05 a.m. Oct. 5, 2013, in the Marion V.A. Hospital. He was born July 1, 1950, in Warsaw to Wesley R. and Dorothy Hamman Anderson, who preceded him in death. He was a 1968 graduate of Warsaw High School. He entered the U.S. Army Aug. 29, 1969, and served two tours in Vietnam. SP4 Robert Eugene Anderson was honorably discharged May 15, 1970, from Fort Hood, Texas. He was trained and licensed in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration. He lived and worked for several years in the Warsaw area after returning from the service, then in Fort Wayne where, for 15 years, he maintained several apartment buildings with KP Rental Properties. He enjoyed working with his hands, and spending time with his friends. Surviving are a sister, Sue (and spouse Jim) Sonnefield, Marion; two nephews, Jon (and spouse Amy) Newell, Silver Lake, and Brian (and spouse Theresa) Newell, Silver Lake; two nieces, Amanda and Lauren Sonnefield, Marion; several cousins, great nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Feb. 11, 1984; his mother, Feb. 5, 2006; and sister, Barbara Wineland, Feb. 28, 2013. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Jim Sonnefield, his brother-in-law, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
