Rick Hackworth, 52, of 6486 W. CR 1200S, Silver Lake, died at 11:05 a.m. Feb. 29, 2012, in Select Rehab at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born April 17, 1959, in Columbia City, to Adam Sherman and Delpha Jackson Hackworth. On May 6, 2000, he married Donna Lynn Huggins, who survives.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he was a welder at Par-Kan Co., Silver Lake, until his retirement due to his illness.
Also surviving are two stepchildren, Tara Lynn Smith and Jason Lee Smith, both of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Connie Sue (and spouse Vellis) Wireman, Gunlock, Ky., and Billie Little, Silver Lake; and two brothers, Danny “Bub” Hackworth, Silver Lake, and Randy (and spouse Paula) Hackworth, Roann. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
