AKRON – Richard L. Smith, 77, of 1030 Elm St., Rochester, died at 12:10 p.m. Sept. 20, 2013, at his residence. He was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Kokomo, to Virgil and Dorotha Bentley Smith. On Sept. 10, 1955, in Mentone, he married Esther I. Quier, who preceded him in death Nov. 28, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartzel Funeral Home, Akron, with Pastors Thad Steward and Jason See officiating. Burial will be in Athens Cemetery, with graveside military rites being performed by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
