SYRACUSE – Richard “Dick” Prescott, 84, Leesburg, passed away May 30, 2016. He was born June 8, 1931, in Union City, to Henry and Helen Potter Prescott. On Dec. 18, 1954, he married Mary Hicks, who survives in Leesburg. He was a 1949 graduate of Madison Township High School. He was a 1951 graduate of International Business College, 1955 graduate of Ball State University and was a lieutenant in the Air Force. He was an airline pilot for American Airlines for 25 years. He was an instructor for the International Business College for five years, and served in the National Guard as a major. Also surviving are a son, Michael (and spouse Joanna) Prescott, Syracuse; four daughters: Sandra Screeton, Fort Wayne; Vickie (and spouse Bill) Zimmer, Charlotte, N.C.; Lisa Glon and Lori Prescott, both of Syracuse; five grandchildren: Lauren (and spouse Michael) Honeycutt, Haley Zimmer, Ashley (and spouse Michael) Martin, Sadie and Greyston Grumme; four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Tom (and spouse Ellen) Prescott, Troy, Ohio; Harry (and spouse Diane) Prescott, Union City; two sisters: Judy (and spouse Dick) Keltner, Odessa, Fla.; and Becky (and spouse Don) Owens, Easley, S.C. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Eastlund Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Union City.
