ROCHESTER – Red Holland, 76, of 705 E. 4th St., Rochester, died at 1 p.m. April 4, 2012, in his residence.

He was born Dec. 5, 1935, in Trenton, N.J. On June 5, 1966, he married Martha “Marty” Mowrer, who survives.

He was raised in Rochester by the Maria Zoppe family performing in the circus with the Zoppes’ Bareback Riding act and traveling all over the United States. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga., from 1958-60 as a cook. He worked at Ritz Craft, Argos; Rochester Homes; Rochester School Corp.; and retired from the Fulton County Courthouse after 23 years of service. He was a member of Eagles Lodge, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Rochester volunteer fireman for many years and coached Little League baseball. He attended Akron Church of God.

Also surviving are his twin sons, Andrew (and spouse Carla) Holland, and Anthony Scott Holland, all of Rochester; five grandchildren; a sister, Yoland Zoppe, Dallas, Texas; and two brothers, Joe Zoppe, Dallas, and Enrico (and spouse Joan) Zoppe, Tularosa, N.M.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, is in charge of arrangements.
