Ranae Sue Curtis Garber, 54, Pierceton, passed away at 9:30 a.m. March 21, 2014, on the first full day of spring. She was surrounded by her loving family and passed away after a six-month battle with melanoma.
She was born April 27, 1959, in Warsaw, to Gale and Sue Utter Curtis. On June 28, 1980, she married Frank D. Garber Jr, who survives.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1977, and Grace College in 1991. She taught at Harrison Elementary School for more than 20 years and attended Warsaw First Brethren Church for much of her adult life. More recently, she attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
She was a generous and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grammy and friend. She lived her life to the fullest, and enjoyed traveling, teaching, volunteering, shopping and spending time with family.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rebekah Garber, Pierceton, and Chasity (and spouse Mike) Delashmutt, Sterling Heights, Mich.; one son, Benjamin (and spouse Stephanie) Garber, Carmel; six grandchildren; one sister, Angie (and spouse John) Strayer, South Whitley; and one brother, Chad Curtis, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of Ranae’s life will be at 11 a.m Saturday at Harrison Elementary School. Cards, photos and stories are appreciated.
