SOUTH WHITLEY - Pauline H. "Polly" Brubaker, 95, of South Whitley, died at 9:50 a.m. Oct. 14, 2010, in Peabody Home, North Manchester, where she was a resident since January 2007.
She was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Wells County, to Robert L. and Mary Sara Milliken Hatfield. On Aug. 15, 1937, she married Charles B. Brubaker, who died Sept. 1, 1990.
She graduated from Ossian High School in 1932 and received a bachelor's degree from Manchester College in 1936. She lived in Fort Wayne for a year before moving to Ossian. In 1948, she moved to South Whitley.
While living in Ossian, she taught school for three years. She worked at Whitley Manufacturing for 17 years and was a member of South Whitley United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, David (and spouse Anita) Nusbaum, New Haven, Jean (and spouse Max) Reed, Warsaw; and GayLinn (and spouse Jeff) Watkins, Jonesboro, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
