Melvin F. Gunter, 75, Warsaw, passed away at 10:59 p.m. May 31, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was born Nov. 11, 1936, in Warsaw, to Alton and Ethel Mae Ransbottom Gunter. On April 12, 1985, in Warsaw, he married Tonya Propps, who survives. He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw, and a machinist at Zimmer Inc., retiring in 1998 after 24 years. He also was a member of Pierceton American Legion Post 258 and served in the Indiana National Guard. Also surviving are his favorite pets, dogs Choo-Choo and Caboose. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert “Bob” Gunter, and his parents. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Claypool, with Pastor Dudley Waites officiating.
