Martha Darlene Perry, 75, Warsaw, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Nov. 29, 2015, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw. She was born Aug. 26, 1940, in Kosciusko County, to Wilbur and Geraldine Loher Perry. Her father died unexpectedly in an automobile accident when she was 9 years old. At that point she became the “man of the family” and became responsible for helping her mother and took care of the family farm. She was a lifelong cattle and grain farmer, always a hard worker and she resided on the family farm her entire lifetime. She had also worked at Lake City Bank for many years and even worked at Zimmer Inc. in Warsaw for over 20 years. She was the sexton of Palestine Cemetery for many years. She loved anything John Deere, but most of all she loved her dog Missy. She was a friend to many and will be dearly missed. She leaves behind two sisters, Janice Irene Hatfield, Mentone, and Dawn Brooks, Corinth, Miss.; three nieces; seven great-nieces and -nephews; and 17 great-great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Wayne Balmer officiating. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Palestine Cemetery.
