Marjorie “Marj” L. Baber, 85, Warsaw, passed away at 9:59 p.m. May 6, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 3, 1931, in Miami County, to Maude Walker. On Dec. 24, 1952, in Denver, Ind., she married the love of her life, Kenneth Baber, 10 days after their first date. He survives in Warsaw. She graduated from Chili High School where she enjoyed acting in school plays. She loved people and interacting with customers daily while she worked at the Burger Dairy Store and CVS, both in Warsaw, and as an owner of Baber’s Kwik-Way, Atwood. She was an avid animal lover and never turned a stray away that came to her door. When she wasn’t busy working around the house, she enjoyed the lights and sounds of the casino. Also surviving are three children: Gerry Baber and Teresa (and spouse John) Calhoun, all of Warsaw; Tracy (and spouse Jim) Moyer, Atwood; eight grandchildren: Dustin Calhoun, Brianne Kendall, Bronson Baber, Branigan VanCleave, Brooklyn McKenzie, Trista Moyer, Christian Moyer and Braxton Baber; six great-grandchildren: Bennett, Connor and Kaiden McKenzie, Lily Kendell, Avery Sherman and Izabella VanCleave. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Taylor Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Harrison – Center Cemetery, Atwood.
