PIERCETON - Margaret L. Menzie, 100, of Pierceton, went to be with the Lord at 7:10 a.m. April 2, 2011, in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake.

She was born March 12, 1911, in Cromwell, to Carl and Cleo Earnhart. On Oct. 21, 1947, in Fort Wayne, she married Howard Menzie, who died in 1995.

She grew up on a farm near Pierceton. She lived nearly her whole life in the Pierceton area. She graduated from Pierceton High School and attended elementary school at Cummins School, which was a one-room school northeast of Pierceton. Before marriage, she worked for Zollmer Pistons and the telephone company in Fort Wayne. Later in life she worked at Kosciusko County Courthouse for both the treasurer and auditor's offices. She was a member of Pierceton United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau for many years. She enjoyed making baskets and stuffed bears to give away. She also enjoyed playing Scrabble and Upwords with her friends.

Surviving are a son, Phil (and spouse Debbie) Menzie, Pierceton; four grandchildren: Ann Menzie, Minneapolis, Minn.; Becky (and spouse Joel) Roman, Plainfield; Katie (and spouse Mike) Hall, Winter Haven, Fla.; and Brian Menzie, Pierceton; and four great-grandchildren, Faith, Audra, Gabi and Hudson Roman, all of Plainfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Aurel, Hollis, Carl V. and Robert Earnhart.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pierceton United Methodist Church with Pastors Mike and Katie Hall officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
