COLUMBIA CITY - Leo R. Woods, 90, of Ridinger Lake, died at 8:42 p.m. Dec. 10, 2007, in the emergency room at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
He was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Butler, to Jasper and Bertha Boyd Woods. On Dec. 16, 1975, he married Phyllis A. Markley, who survives.
He graduated from Ashley High School and earned a degree in chemical engineering at Tri State College, Angola. He was a diesel mechanic at Citizens Transportations, Riverside, Calif., for 38 years. He moved to South Whitley in May 1980, and to Ridinger Lake in 1995. He was a member of Brockton United Methodist Church, Riverside.
Also surviving are a daughter, Rebecca A. Woods, Columbia City; three stepchildren: Laura Fetro, Pierceton; Mark (and spouse Pam) Fetro, Fort Wayne; and Greg (and spouse Betty) Fetro, South Whitley; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, a brother and a sister.
Services and calling will be private. A private burial will be at a later date at South Whitley Cemetery.
