NAPPANEE - Kathy D. George, 41, of 152 E. Walnut St., Nappanee, died unexpectedly of natural causes early morning April 12, 2008, in her residence.

She was born Oct. 7, 1966, in Fort Wayne, to Keith and Janet Arnold Vardaman, who survive in Zephyrhills, Fla. On June 27, 1999, on Lake Wawasee, she married Michael George, who survives.

Moving to Nappanee in 1989, she graduated from Norwell High School and Manchester College, earning a degree in business. She was a computer clerk at Woodview Elementary School, Nappanee, and formerly worked at the Elkhart Truth, Family Christian Development Center and Miller Manufacturing, Nappanee. She was active in the drug awareness at Wa-Nee Schools and helped at the Union Therapeutic Center.

Also surviving are four daughters, Kayla and Katie Carney and Megan and Molly George, all of Nappanee; a brother, Kurtis (and spouse Lisa) Vardaman, Osceola. She was preceded in death by a son.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Nappanee First Church of God with the Rev. David Bibbee officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
