John Richard 'Dick' Klapp

ARGOS - John Richard "Dick" Klapp, 81, of 300 E. Prairie St., Warsaw, died at 12:45 p.m. July 21, 2008, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw, following an extended illness.

He was born July 11, 1927, in South Bend, to Virgil and Doris Klapp.

He formerly lived in St. Petersburg, Fla., then lived in Rochester from 1985-2005. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and owned Dick's Boat House, Koontz Lake. He was a former member of American Legion, Rochester.

Surviving are a daughter, Janice (and spouse Rich) Helmuth, St. Petersburg; a son, John Klapp Jr., St. Petersburg; two stepdaughters, Judy (and spouse Harold) Farver, Plymouth, and Tina (and spouse Steve) Phipps, Warsaw; a stepson, Rex (and spouse Linda) McCraner, Kendallville; and a brother, Bob Klapp, Mobile, Ala. He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Burial will be at a later date.

Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, is in charge of arrangements.
