AKRON – John E. Davis, 69, of 402 N. Jefferson St., Silver Lake, died the morning of Aug. 3, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Jan. 18, 1943, in Fulton County, to John B. and Hilda Dilts Davis.
He retired from the Kosciusko County Highway Department after 43 years. He enjoyed working on trucks and tractors. He also enjoyed the seasonal work of hauling pontoons to and from the lakes in the area. He was formerly a member of Moose Lodge and the Eagles.
Surviving are his significant other for 31 years, Patricia Keith, Silver Lake; a daughter, Tammy Stanton, Oswego; a son, Tony Alton, Bakersfield, Calif.; a granddaughter, Bridget Stanton Warsaw; a grandson, Kenneth Stanton Jr., Warsaw; a brother, Ed Davis, Bluffton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Akron Cemetery.
