Jeff Melvin, 53, Troy Cedar Lake, Columbia City, passed away at 8:29 p.m. Sept. 7, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 19, 1961, in Plymouth, to Jimmie F. Sr. and Martha “Marty” Melvin. Survivors are: his mother, Martha J. Melvin; his best friend, “Nubby”; two sisters, Robin (and spouse Dennis) McClain, Lehigh Acres, Fla. and Debra (and spouse Ronald) Darr; four brothers, Benjamin (and spouse Annette) Melvin, Jimmie (and spouse Linda) Melvin Jr., and Joshua Melvin, all of Columbia City; and Mitchell (and spouse Nancy) Melvin, Fort Wayne; three nephews, five nieces and three great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie F. Melvin, Sr. We will announce the celebration of Jeffrey’s love of mushroom hunting, fishing and life at a later date.
