SYRACUSE - Jacqueline Sue "Jackie" Aalbregtse, 56, of Lafayette, and formerly of Syracuse, died at 1:04 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007, at Home Hospital, Lafayette.
She was born June 16, 1951, in Decatur, to Paul D. and Donna Lou Crist Nussbaum, who survive in Berne.
She graduated from Adams Central High School, Monroe, in 1969; Taylor University, Upland, in 1973; and received a master's degree from St. Francis University, Fort Wayne. She moved to Syracuse from the Auburn/Avilla area in 1989, and has lived in Lafayette for the past three years. She formerly worked as an elementary and junior high teacher in Marion and Avilla; a substitute teacher for Wawasee and Westview schools; Maple Leaf Farms, Milford; and was former co-owner and operator of Village Florist, Syracuse. She was a member of North Webster Church of God.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Alysha) Wachtman, Rochester; a son, Spencer Aalbregtse, Lafayette; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rick (Barb) Minnich, Decatur, and Teresa Nussbaum, Shawneetown, Ill.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ray Cemetery, Monroe, with Chaplain Anita Rediger officiating.
