Grace Black, 91, died at 3:46 p.m. March 22, 2008, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, where she resided.
She was born March 28, 1916, in Cambridge, Neb., to Minard and Estella Coplen Gates. On Sept. 19, 1936, she married Harold Black, who died in 2001.
Living in Warsaw most of her life, she lived in Arizona from 1976-92. She retired from Owen's Supermarket after 20 years, was a member of First Christian Church, Warsaw, and taught children's Sunday school for many years.
Surviving are a sister, Ruth Schrader, Warsaw; and a brother, Paul Gates, Columbia City. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Ronnie Sams officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
