Former Manchester Superintendent Hired By Knox Community Schools

Posted
KNOX – The former superintendent of Manchester Community Schools has been hired as the new the superintendent in Knox.

The Knox Community School Board approved Dr. Bill Reichhart by a vote of 7-0, according to news radio station WKVI.

Reichhart resigned under pressure from Manchester Schools in May after allegations of bullying and intimidation of his employees surfaced.

Reichhart will receive a $108,00 salary and is scheduled to begin Aug. 1.

A group called Friends of Knox Schools expressed concern that they were never given the chance to meet Reichhart or discuss their concerns about Reichhart’s past with the board.

Reichhart is the target of a federal lawsuit alleging he forced Lisa Ulrey, a former assistant principal, to resign after she reported him to the school board for allowing a student to have tobacco products on school grounds at Squire Academy.

Reichhart has denied the allegations made in the lawsuit.

The case is still pending.
