Father Ronald Ramenaden

NORTH MANCHESTER - Father Ronald Ramenaden, 67, of North Manchester, died at 4 p.m. Sept. 9, 2009, in his residence.

He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to Nicholas and Irene Babapulle Ramenaden.

He was ordained as a priest in 1970, serving 15 years in the United States. He was a diocesan priest, serving at St. Charles Catholic Church, Fort Wayne, and St. Roberts Catholic Church, North Manchester, since 1997.

Surviving are two brothers, Father Bernard Ramenaden OSB, Rome City, and Neville Ramenaden, Colombo, Sri Lanka; and a sister, Gladys (and spouse Wensuslaus) Rodrigo, Colombo. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Robert's Catholic Church, North Manchester. A prayer service will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, with Bishop John D'Arcy officiating. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.

Calling is two hours prior to service Monday at the church.

McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
