NORTH MANCHESTER – Estill Blevins, 84, of North Manchester, died at 3:25 p.m. Aug. 12, 2013, at his residence. He was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Floyd County, Ky., to Frank and Vina Tackett Blevins. On March 13, 1954, he married Joyce A. Spriggs, who died Oct. 23, 2004. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea. He retired from Controls Co. of America, North Manchester, in 1968. He owned Blevins CB Sales and Service, North Manchester, from 1974-1978. He then owned Blevins Produce 1978-2004, and also sold fishing bait from his home for many years. Surviving are two sons, Eddie Ray (and spouse Sandy) Blevins, North Manchester, and Elmer Collins, Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters: Patricia Ann Blevins, Laketon; Grace Marie (and spouse Ty) Miller and Michelle (and spouse Bret) Bechtold, all of North Manchester; two brothers, Elmer Blevins, North Manchester, and Charles Blevins, Portsmouth, Ohio; and two sisters, Minnie Nickels, North Manchester, and Betty Perry, Omar, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating.
