MENTONE - Elnora L. Craig, 88, formerly of 5158 N. CR 825E, Mentone, died at 1:20 a.m. March 18, 2010, in Life Care Center of Rochester.

She was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Mentone, Fulton County, to Jacob W. and Bessie C. Tipton Gross. On July 28, 1940, in Akron, she married George J. Craig, who died Jan. 14, 1985.

She was a homemaker and she and her late husband started Craig Welding, where she was formerly a bookkeeper. She was a member of Riverview Community Church and Fulton County Republican Women's Club, where she was a past recipient of the Woman of the Year award. She was a member of the former Country Neighbors Home Economics Club. She enjoyed cooking and cross-stitched quilts for all of her grandchildren and most of her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling. She graduated from Talma High School as the salutatorian of the class of 1939.

Surviving are three daughters, Jerilyn (and spouse Richard) Peterson and Pam Craig, all of Rochester, and Janet (and spouse Patrick) Walters, Bourbon; two sons, Don Craig (and Karen Whitehead) and John Craig, all of Mentone; a sister, Lois Liebeler, Dunedin, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Gross, and a grandson, Todd Peterson.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Rodney Ruberg officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone.
