FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - Elmer E. "Juve" Weiss, 83, died Feb. 28, 2010, in Covenant Medical Center, Cooper.
He was born Feb. 12, 1927. On July 3, 1954, he married Lorna A. Maurer, who died April 11, 2006.
He was engaged in farming all of his lifetime. He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, its Male Choir and its Men's Wednesday Morning Bible Study. He belonged to the Lincoln Woodchoppers Club and the Lichtmusse Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Lori Weiss and Linda (and spouse James) Tinkey; four sons: Roger (and spouse Joanmarie) Weiss; Russell (and spouse Lori) Weiss; Gordon (and spouse Mary) Weiss; and Ernest (and spouse Karla) Weiss; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Martin Weiss; four sisters: Verna (and spouse Ed) Veitengruber; Doris Reda; Ellen Jacquish; and Ruth Schluckebier; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Weiss, and a brother, Donald Weiss.
Services will be at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St., and at 11 a.m. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dale C. Ahlschwede officiating with burial between services in St. Lorenz Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday.
