SAN AUGUSTINE, Texas - Eldon Dean Parker, 82, of Broaddus, Texas, died Aug. 12, 2009, in San Augustine, Texas.
He was born March 28, 1927, in Mentone, to George and Edith Parker. He married Betty Parker, who survives in Broaddus.
He was a carpenter and worked construction. He served in the US Navy during World War II.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffry Parker, Deltona, Fla.; a daughter, Sandra Crowe, Eaton, Colo.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marcella (and spouse Roger) Parker, North Manchester. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, San Augustine, with Brother Glenn Middleton officiating. Cremation will occur.
